Help CenterBoarding Primary Services allow you to create flexible boarding service types with their own pricing structure, independent of the assigned run. This is especially useful for facilities that offer different boarding packages, luxury accommodations, training stays, or multi-pet discounts while still using runs strictly for housing assignments. By separating pricing from the run itself, you can simplify pricing management and create more customizable boarding options for your customers.
To enable Boarding Primary Services, click on Setup, System Options, Global.
Check the box for 'Enable advanced services'.
Click Save Settings.
To setup your different types of boarding, click on Setup, Lists, Boarding Primary Services.
Click Add new item.
Enter the charge name and description.
Assign a category if you'd like this item to be in its own separate total on the sales report. To create a new category, click on Setup, Inventory, Categories.
Enter the cost, check if the service is to be taxed and enable commissions if needed.
At the bottom of the page, enter the prices for the 2nd - 5th pet if they are to get a discounted price. You can either choose a dollar reduction or a percentage reduction.
In this example, the 1st pet price is $85, the 2nd pet is $80 ($5 reduction) and the 3rd - 5th pet is $75 ($10 reduction).
On the appointment screen, you will now need to choose the Primary Service for the pet(s) and it will load the price for the service.
You can still assign the run but the run price is not used.
