Decline reasons in Cardpointe

Clients may call in saying that a card has declined when taking payment. 

Some reasons for this are:

  1. The clients card is expired. If so, they must use a different card or payment method.

  2. The bank has declined the transaction. In Cardpointe, the service not allowed error on a declined card typically indicates the bank rejected the transaction for some reason. If this is the case, the client must contact their bank for more info.

  3. You can't refund the same day a payment was taken. This decline error in Cardpointe means the business is trying to refund a transaction the same day the payment was taken. It must be voided.

  4. Decline error Street and zip do not match. This is an issuing bank decline they need to get another card or call their bank. It's likely the transaction amount was too high or the client reached their daily transaction limit. It could be anything and we won't know why so the client must contact their bank.
