3 min. readlast update: 05.25.2026

Settings are the same for all modules (Boarding, Grooming, Daycare, Special Services).

Exercises can be added to Online Reservation appointments.  Even if your business doesn’t have many exercise options, OLR is a great opportunity to create additional ones and potentially boost the revenue for appointments.

Options must be set for each location.

Adding exercises

These exercises must be setup in File, Lists, Exercises before they can be added to OLR.

Add the exercise name and price.  Exercises can be given up to three times a day.

Charge by day – This will charge the client one time, even if they receive the exercise 2 or 3 times a day.

Charge by service – This will charge the client for how many times they receive the exercise, 3 exercises will be charged x3.

Adding exercises for OLR

To add to OLR, click on Online Reservations, OLR Settings, Exercises.

Click on Add New.

Linked Item:  Click here to choose the exercise.  This is an important step as this controls how the exercise pulls into appointments and how it invoices.

Title and Description:  This is what your client will see when choosing the exercise and this can be anything you’d like to add.

Pet Type:  If you have exercises that are only to be given to cats, dogs, or birds, choose the right pet type.  If you have an exercise set to Dogs, for example, then clients who are making appointments for a cat will not see these options.

Rate:  Click if you’d like to show the price.

How often:  Choose Morning, Afternoon and/or Evening, depending on how often you offer this exercise.  If you check all three, that’s potentially 3 times the revenue.

Ask Qty:  This setting allows clients to add instructions for the exercise that will be automatically added to the appointment and will print on reports.

Order:  You can use the arrows to decide what order the exercises will be displayed.

Hit Save Settings when done.

Turn on Exercises

To enable Exercises for OLR, click on Pages to Display and click on Exercises.  Use the arrows to set which order pages should be displayed for OLR appointments.

Setting options for Exercises on OLR

To set options of how the Exercises tab will display in OLR, click on Customize Pages and scroll down to Exercises.

You can also add customized messaging to the Exercise tab for OLR.  An example might be you want to clients to know what happens to outside activities in case of bad weather.

You can enable/disable Frequency.  If you disable this, then exercises are automatically added for every day of their appointment.

If you enable this, clients will be able to choose Every day, Every other day, Twice a week, Weekly, First day only, Last day only.

You can enable/disable the option for clients to add exercises notes.  These will be added automatically to the appointment and will print on reports.

Requiring exercises for OLR appointments

You can require clients choose at least one exercise under General tab.  If you do not enable this, the client will still see all your exercise options but they will be able to click through the screen without choosing one.

What your clients sees in OLR

Clients can choose as many exercises as they’d like.  If enabled, they must choose at least one exercise before continuing making the appointment.
